Phyllis Andrews

. I have lived in North Carolina most of my life and spent some years as a biochemist. Many years ago I was inspired to start painting by the beautiful scenery on our family farm in western NC. The farm is still a rich source of inspiration, as are the places I visit on the back roads and trails of my travels, especially by bicycle. Over time I have also developed an interest in telling stories with my art. In these illustrations I can create an alternate world whose characters can be my companions or my alter ego. In one of my fantasy worlds I have befriended a snowman, and in another two red bicycles have become animated and are traveling the world with their adventures and mishaps chronicled in paintings.
