The two red bicycles are alter egos for me and my husband. Their adventures include lots of cycling at the beach in the Carolinas. This day included dolphin sightings as well as pelicans. Coasting has enjoyed the privilege of being in two national juried shows, including the NOAPS 2018 Best of America exhibit. The painting is offered for sale in a floater frame.
. I have lived in North Carolina most of my life and spent some years as a biochemist. Many years ago I was inspired to start painting by the beautiful scenery on our family farm in western NC. The farm is still a rich source of inspiration, as are the places I visit on the back roads and trails of my travels, especially by bicycle. Over time I have also developed an interest in telling stories with my art. In these illustrations I can create an alternate world whose characters can be my companions or my alter ego. In one of my fantasy worlds I have befriended a snowman, and in another two red bicycles have become animated and are traveling the world with their adventures and mishaps chronicled in paintings.
